A new way to pump.

A conventional pump’s tubes made
Mom "feel like a cow."
XX eliminates tubes and frustration.

Never lose a drop
Bottles track their milk's temperature,
and let mom know when they expire.

No more tubes
Bottles connect directly to the pump through a plastic flange.

Quiet and hands-free
The pump supports the weight of the bottles and muffles the pump's sound.

How is this still a thing? XX is designed for real women.

The Companion App

Marvel Prototype for XX redesign

Project Scope

This project began as an Masters Design thesis in 2015 under the direction of David Kelley and others from IDEO and Stanford's d.school.

My teammates Carla Gonzalez-Dharap, Gabrielle Guthrie, Abby Flora, and I spent six months needfinding, journey modeling, prototyping, and testing with users our concepts for a better breast pump. Our final deliverable was a "looks-like" prototype.

In 2017, I spent a few weeks re-rendering our concept and wireframing its connected app. Unless specified, I developed all visuals here.
